Welcome Home!
So much has changed since we first launched breakbeatscience.com in 1997. We all survived the rumors of the end of Drum + Bass and watched as the music took hold in new strongholds throughout the world. We played, collected, produced, started labels, and rallied around each other to bring our music into a new century. It's been an incredibly busy seven years online, and you, our customers, have been there through it all. But as the world has changed, how have we changed?
The Internet is a different place. New York City, our home, is a different place. Drum + Bass is a different place. Now breakbeatscience.com, finally, is a different place. What you see before you is the product of countless long conversations about the way we'd like to shop for the things we listen to, wear, read, and watch. But this is all just the beginning -- there are still more changes behind the scenes that we will be announcing over the next few months, and we think you'll be as excited about them as we are.

About The Store
Breakbeat Science was brought into existence in 1996, taking its place as the first drum-n-basscentric record store in the United States. Occupying a cramped storefront in Manhattan's East Village, the store quickly became the nexus of a stateside breakbeat revolution, the outcome of which would push drum-n-bass into the spotlight of America's rave culture. About The Labels
Breakbeat Science Recordings, along with its sister label, Orgone Recordings, gives Breakbeat Science a creative voice to push the changing sound of drum-n-bass, opening doors for revolutionary musicians to move dancefloors. The twenty-five single releases and nine CDs on the labels have built Breakbeat Science Recordings a reputation second to none among both fans and critics in the genre. From the first CD release on Breakbeat Science (DB's hugely-popular Secret Art of Science), to the most recent (DJ Dara's Exercise.01 mix of Breakbeat Science and Orgone tracks), the label has set new artistic standards for drum-n-bass. High Contrast's True Colors CD, released by Breakbeat Science to massive acclaim, commanded the second position on the College Music Journal's RPM Electronica chart for five weeks and was listed among the top ten releases of 2002 in Mixer, XLR8R and Urb magazines. Pieter K's groundbreaking Everything All The Time has been called "a stone-cold classic" by Knowledge Magazine, and "breathtaking in its intensity and depth" by Urb. Next up on the stellar CD discography is London Elektricity's Billion Dollar Gravy, already selected as Album of the Month by the UK's MUSIK magazine and touted by BPM magazine as "the best drum-n-bass album ever". In July, drum-n-bass legend Klute unleashes his U.S. debut album, Lie Cheat & Steal, a followup to his groundbreaking Fear Of People and his first album in three years. The best of the roster are set to tour the country throughout June, July and August on the first-ever Breakbeat Science Tour.
About The Website
In 1997, Breakbeat Science launched breakbeatscience.com, the first online outlet for drum- n-bass records and CDs. The success of the website (its thriving message board was the first of its kind in the community, spawning several in its wake) catapulted the brand into the consciousness of ravers across the country. It remains among the strongest online retail establishments for drum-n-bass anywhere in the world, and is the pre-eminent drum-n-bass supplier in the United States.
About The Clothing
Breakbeat Science Clothing has grown from a small line of store-oriented T-shirts to encompass a broad line of streetwear, including limited-edition shirts and sweatshirts created by such internationally-acclaimed graphic designers as Ryan McGinness and Airline Industries. Unified by the music that has built Breakbeat Science's solid reputation, the designs are unique expressions of the drum-n-bass movement. 2003 holds exciting new developments for the merchandise line, as Breakbeat Science introduces the Techheadz
